Hot Honey Ranch Dip (Printable version)

Creamy tangy ranch with hot honey and herbs, ready in 10 minutes; ideal for veggies, wings, or chips.

# What you need:

→ Dairy & Base

01 - 1 cup sour cream
02 - 1/2 cup mayonnaise
03 - 1 tablespoon buttermilk, optional for thinning

→ Flavorings & Seasonings

04 - 2 tablespoons hot honey
05 - 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped
06 - 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
07 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
08 - 1 teaspoon dried dill
09 - 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
10 - 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
11 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
12 - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
13 - 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

# How to make it:

01 - In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the sour cream, mayonnaise, and buttermilk until smooth and free of lumps.
02 - Add the hot honey, chives, parsley, garlic powder, dried dill, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Stir thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly distributed and the mixture is creamy.
03 - Taste the dip and adjust the salt, pepper, or heat level as desired. Thin with an additional splash of buttermilk if a looser consistency is preferred.
04 - Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and develop.
05 - Transfer to a serving bowl and serve chilled alongside fresh vegetables, chicken wings, fries, or tortilla chips.

# Expert tips:

01 -
  • You literally cannot stop eating it once you start, and neither can anyone else.
  • It takes about ten minutes and uses ingredients you probably already have in your fridge and spice rack.
02 -
  • If you skip the resting time the dip will taste flat and the dried dill will feel gritty between your teeth.
  • Not all hot honey is created equal, so taste yours first and adjust the amount based on how spicy and sweet it is.
03 -
  • Use the dip with the same food you plan to serve it with when adjusting seasoning, because a carrot stick and a potato chip deliver completely different flavor contexts.
  • A final drizzle of hot honey and a pinch of flaky salt on top right before serving makes it look like you tried much harder than you actually did.
